Eclipse Stakes Form Tips and Odds featuring Prince Of Wale’s winner So You Think

Imported Australian racing champion So You Think and winner of the Prince Of Wales’s stakes last up, will be competing in the 2012 Coral Eclipse at Sandown, which is also likely to be the duel continent winners last career start.

Coral Eclipse Stakes

The 2012 Coral Eclipse Stakes, simply known as the Eclipse Stakes, will jump off this Saturday the 7th of July at the prestigious Sandown Park racecourse in Esher England.

The Eclipse Stakes is a 10.5 furlong (2112 metres) Group One flat race for thoroughbreds aged three years and up that offers prize money totaling £400,000 ($620,000 AUD).

Part of the British Champion series, the Eclipse Stakes will start at 3:10pm UK time, which is 12:10am Sunday Sydney time.

So You Think won last year’s Eclipse Stakes when he defeated Arc De Triomphe hero Workforce.
As such, So You Think will be seeking to become only the third horse in the past eighty-five years of Coral Eclipse Stakes history to win the event in consecutive years, with Halling (1995-96), the last to accomplish this rare feat.

Eclipse Stakes Field

To accomplish this feat the Aidan O’Brien trained So You Think will face a talented Eclipse Stakes field that includes:

- The Saeed bin Suroor trained Farhh (GB), who in spite of a poor start finished third to So You Think in the Prince Of Wales‘s.

-  The John Godsen trained Nathaniel (IRE), winner of the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes last year, who’ll be making his 2012 debut.

-The Mahmood Al Zarooni trained Monterosso (GB), last seen winning the Dubai World Cup, and the Roger Charlteon trained Cityscape (GB) who won the Dubai Duty Stakes in March.
